An oil painting of Princess Leia from Star Wars in my Break Out series that was created for Lucasfilm to be used as officially licensed fine art prints for art galleries and Disneyland. Several images included in this: Concept Sketch, Leia Study, First Pass, and the final art. The concept sketch is the art I created to pitch the idea to Lucasfilm. The oil painted sketch was a likeness study of Leia before executing the final piece. I also included the first version of the painting before I was given notes by Disney, Notes were: More fabric in the skirt panel to cover the character more, adjust the makeup on her face to match a reference photo they provided.
My idea behind this piece was to illustrate Leia as a slave but not "enslaved". She may have been captured but her spirit had not been broken.
The final original oil painting measures 24in x 36in and was purchased by George Lucas.
