Robotech: Protecting the SDF-1

This was executed as a commission from Harmony Gold to be used as a book cover for officially licensed Robotech merchandise. The final art is a 20x30 gouache painting on illustration board.

Final sketch with the last round of notes from Harmony gold with added background. Originally the background was just going to be the UN Spacy logo, or an explosion.  But when I was given creative freedom, I opted to paint the SDF-1 in the background.
